About the Toshiba IP5522-SD

The IP5522-SD is the value-priced member of Toshiba's IP5000-series IP telephone family, introduced in February 2011 as a lower-cost equivalent to the IP5022-SD. It pairs 10 programmable feature buttons with a 4-line x 24-character non-backlit LCD and dynamic soft keys, and includes Toshiba's full-duplex speakerphone, built-in headset interface and Speaker Off-hook Call Announce.

Toshiba positioned these lower-priced models for bid situations where price, rather than a Gigabit Ethernet connection, is the deciding factor. The IP5522-SD was added alongside — not as a replacement for — the existing IP5000-series models. Compared with the IP5022-SD it drops the Gigabit Ethernet switch for a 10/100Mbps port and removes support for ADM add-on modules, DSS consoles and the BESCB speaker control box, in exchange for a lower price.
